He touched off to the ground with the bar pulled in. That puts the CG very far forward and the smallest divot on the field will cause a WHACK. I would always want to touch down going slower than trim speed.

Larger pneumatic wheels would have helped as well.

He seems to have confused a fast approach (good) with landing fast (very bad). You can see how he's pulling in, apparently he thought the glider was going to keep flying forever if he didn't bring it down! You touch down at that speed, you're going to whack, especially with small, hard wheels.

If this is how he thinks he should land, there are serious gaps in his training.
